Is there something wrong with me?

No, we all go through bumps and challenges throughout life. Every person experiences obstacles and difficulties at some point in their journey, whether it’s a setback in their career, a health problem, or a relationship issue. These bumps in the road can be frustrating and overwhelming, but they also provide opportunities for growth and learning. In therapy, we take the time to listen to what you’re going through and help you develop strategies to better cope with the stress caused by your experiences and set healthy boundaries.

Quite the opposite! You are so brave to take the first step by coming to therapy. Our office is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings or gain new insights and perspectives. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health, and we are here to support you in whichever way you need.

We understand your eagerness for quick progress in therapy. While it is a process, you can help by being open and engaged during your therapy sessions, trying out the strategies discussed in your daily life, and setting realistic goals with your therapist. Remember, therapy is a process, but your active involvement can help you see results faster!

That’s a great question. That really varies from person to person and depends on a number of factors. Many people report feeling a sense of relief and hope as soon as they find a therapist who feels “right” to them. Consistency in practicing the strategies we talk about and commitment to showing up will help you see positive changes over the coming weeks and months.

That’s a legitimate concern and we often say that it might feel like things get worse before they get better. While this might sound like nonsense, that means you are working through painful feelings and this is part of what makes therapy effective. It’s a combination of feeling understood, supported, and safe, and processing difficult emotions.
